Sometimes, families of Cerna Care Management recipients want to move their ill, injured or dying loved one home. Despite the intensive, up-to-24-7, care that individual may need, families many times feel home is where the healing is – and the undeniable comfort of familiar surroundings. As one can imagine, the cost for such personalized home care and equipment is staggering for families and not wholly covered by insurance. However, Cerna’s Care Management does their best to make that happen…and happen, it does.

Cerna Homecare is providing Care Management for another tragic case involving a young person. Brett Boyer is described as “adventurous and outgoing; a kindhearted, loving and considerate son, friend and husband to wife Amanda.” On January 28, 2020, Brett was critically injured in a motorcycle accident with an SUV.

The HCA is working with federal, state, and local partners including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and health care providers on preparedness efforts and to guide appropriate care for people who may be at risk for illness associated with COVID-19 or who have tested positive.
